A UK charity in Yvette’s memory
In memory of Yvette Gate, we raise money and awareness through fundraising events, connect with charities working toward the same cause, and encourage people to give blood — small acts that add up to someone else’s future.
Yvette Gate — 22.08.1993 – 29.05.2010

Yvette’s story
Yvette Gate lived with aplastic anaemia for six years. She rarely complained, and tried, in every way she could, to enjoy her life. She was intelligent, beautiful, and had so much left to offer.
A matching bone marrow donor could have given her the future she deserved. One was never found. She died on 29th May 2010, aged just sixteen, cared for to the end at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Her family and friends founded this Trust so that other families facing the same wait have a better chance than she did.

of patients find a matching donor within their own family
rely on strangers on the worldwide stem cell register — many first sign up as blood donors
UK patients still won't find a match in time to save their life
